HashtagsCreating Flags

What Are Flags?

What Flags are and why journaling without them eats analysis later.

Key takeaways

  • Flags (hashtags) are labels attached to trades and notes for grouping by strategy, setup, regime, or mistake.
  • They power retrieval - find every "breakout" trade or "FOMO entry" without scrolling.
  • They power analysis - compare win rate and P&L across flagged groups.
  • The Flags list lives at /workspace/hashtags under Journal → Flags.
  • Most traders end up with 10–30 flags covering the setups they care about.

Flags (also known as hashtags) are labels you attach to trades and notes to group them by anything that matters: strategy, setup, market regime, mistake, or emotional state.

They serve two jobs:

  • Retrieval - find every "breakout" trade or every "FOMO entry" without scrolling.
  • Analysis - compare your win rate and P&L across flagged groups to see which strategies actually work.

You'll find them in the sidebar as Journal → Flags at /workspace/hashtags. Most traders end up with 10–30 flags covering setups they care about.
